Saves The Day " Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots"

Free.

Verse:
All of my life I've searched for clarity
I have wrestled with some paths very deep inside of me
I lost some rounds, been knocked around
Felt my share of defeat
Yet somehow I've always managed to get back...on My Feet
The world keeps telling me to a grip or I won't last
Gotta break away from solitude and let go of my past
I've never found it easy to change my stubborn ways
Or to give perspective, throw away those soul-less days.

Chorus:
We have struggled
We have Prayed
We still searching for something more
We have struggled
We still Pray
We're looking for the chance... to be free.

Verse:
Our music is a shout to where we know were not alone
We sing the words of our favorite songs, they bring us home
We find a little comfort, a little peace of mind
Say goodbye to being left out, hello friendlies come on in

Chorus

Bridge:
Go slow young man
Go slow young girl
Grow strong young man
Grow strong young girl

All of my life I've searched for clarity
I have wrestled with the demons inside me

Chorus

Bridge:
(Go Slow Young man) TO BREAK FREE
(Go slow young girl) CAUSE YOU GATTA HOLD ON TO YOUR DREAMS
(Go slow young man) IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT SEEMS
(Go slow young girl) YOU GATTA FIGHT, FIGHT TO THE FREE
(Go slow young man) YOU GATTA STAY FREE
(Go slow young girl) STAY ALIVE, STAY ALIVE YOU SEE
(GO slow young man) DON'T GIVE IN
(Go slow young girl)

Stay... Free... With me

    Street Dogs "free"

R.I.P.

so today i woke up and heard that a 22 year old pitcher from the angels was hit and killed by a drunk driver.
my heart goes out to the family of Nick Adenhart. may your soul be at rest in heaven.
please don't drink and drive. if you need to call a cab or myself.
it saddens me to see deaths happen this way.

    Longwave

good song.

With a pocket of luck
I made it out to Greenville
Where I married that big American sky
While all my cynical friends
Have been camped out in the suburbs
I've been running around
Living a ramblin' man's life

From a bar stool
I was shouting out bible verses
To a ghost who'd been following me for awhile
And I couldn't find the energy I needed
To make myself smile

These headlights are just a pair of eyes
That only open at night
To see the darker side
And these dead end streets
Only lead to dead end things
My hearts drenched in gasoline
Don't light a spark in me

I woke up to feel the dirt
I swear for a second I could feel a heartbeat in the earth
And the stars burned like cigarettes
And danced like ashes over my head
I couldn't even say a word

These headlights are just a pair of eyes
That only open at night
To see the darker side
And these dead end streets
Only lead to dead end things
My heart's drenched in gasoline
Don't light a spark in me

love this song.

In the backseats of burned out cars in the disenchantment lane
The ideal angels twist and turn and ask forgiveness for future mistakes
But you and I, we've been through this maybe a hundred times before
Always hitching rides with strangers that papa warned us about before
i love this gaslight anthem song...."The Backseat"

But you know the summer always brought it, that wild and reckless breeze
And in the backseat, we just tried to find some room for our knees
And in the backseat, we just tried to find some room to breathe

And in the wild desert sun, we drove straight on through the night
We rode a fever out of Boston, dreamed of California lights
Come July, we'll ride the ferris wheel, go round and round and round
And If you never let me go, well, I will never let you down

And you know the summer always brought it, all those wild and reckless breezes
And in the backseat, we just tried to find some room for our knees
And in the backseat, we just tried to find some room to breathe
And now in the backseat, we just try to find some room to breathe

And these cowboys all go crazy in the heat
Chasing the lights in all the girls along the Santa Ana streets they're just dying to meet
It meant nothing to me

You know the summer always brought it, that wild and reckless breeze
And in the backseat we just tried to find some room for our knees

    The Gaslight Anthem "The Backseat"

i've made up my mind.

i'm going to move.
i have one more semester of school.
then i'm out of here.
i need a new place.
i need a new start.

"going to the same old places, skipping like a broken record.
i love you all, but i got to get out and change this scenery.
i've got to find, what i'm living for. i've got to change this life that i'm living."

one of my favorite songs. Broken Record
